4. News from the CoRe-Net subprojects

4.1. LYOL-C II – Last year of life study Cologne II: Modelling and evaluation of a minimally invasive two-sided intervention to deliver patient-centered care in hospitals

The project was approved by the ethics committee of the University Hospital of Cologne. Thus, the first building block for the start of the practical implementation of the project has been laid. The preparations for this are currently in the final stages, so that the collection of qualitative interviews can begin soon, which will serve to ensure that the intervention is implemented as practically as possible. Furthermore, the recruitment of hospital wards at the University Hospital of Cologne that could be considered for the implementation of the planned study is in progress.

4.2. MenDis-CHD II – A primary care physician based intervention to improve health care in coronary heart disease patients with mental and cognitive disorders

In the past weeks, the two main publications of MenDis-CHD I could be submitted to two journals. The publication with the quantitative main results was successfully accepted by the journal PLOS ONE and will now be published in the next issue. The ethics application for study parts A and B of MenDis-CHD II has also been reviewed, so that we expect the written vote of the ethics committee soon to begin with the implementation of the study parts soon. The questionnaire prepared for study part A can be printed after little corrections and a pre-test. The interview guide for Part B will also be subjected to a pre-test. With regard to study part C, a cooperation with the company axaris – software & systeme GmbH could be entered into in order to enable the data selection in the GP practices. Preparations for the ethical submission of this part of the study are in progress.

5. News from the cooperation projects

5.1. K-APAT – Ambulatory parenteral antibiotic therapy

The survey of general practitioners has now been completed with a response rate of 21 %, corresponding to the number of 404 general practitioners.
The number of patient interviews requested has already been reached. Their evaluations are running parallel to further interviews and indicate a high level of patient satisfaction.
Through the general practitioners survey, we hope for greater awareness of the outpatient form of therapy, as the number of patients included at the end of the year was lower than in the months before.
The focus groups will follow with a slight delay in the second quarter of 2021 due to the contact restrictions caused by the Corona pandemic and also the currently greatly increased workload of the potential participants (outpatient and hospital doctors).

6. International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM)
